We believe that fostering healthy digital habits begins at home.
Our parent workshops – available to schools, workplaces, and other organizations – are designed to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate their role in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. These workshops provide actionable strategies for parents to create balanced digital environments, establish effective controls, and promote open communication about technology use.
Our Workshops for Parents:
1) Creating Healthy Digital Communities
It takes a village to raise a child in our digital world. Drawing from insight in Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation, this workshop will help parents:
Brainstorm controls, rules, and community guidelines for families, friend groups, and wider communities
Promote healthier and more delayed screen-time use
2) Planning for a Healthy Digital Summer
Parents will leave this workshop with a concrete plan of how to foster digital wellness for their children over the summer. Parents will learn how to:
Be an effective “digital wellness coach” for their children
Help their children become the most healthy, mindful and productive versions of themselves off-screen this summer
3) Setting Up Your Family Devices for Success
Screen Time and app controls are an effective way to facilitate family digital goals and decrease some of the most common threats posed by social media and the digital world.
In this session, parents receive:
Step-by-step instructions on how to set up screen time controls on Apple and Samsung devices
The best settings and controls on common apps including Roblox, Fortnite, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram.
4) Creating Healthy Digital Households
For this workshop, we take the best, research-supported ideas for building healthier digital households and translate them into actionable tips for parents. Parents:
Receive a digital contract to sign with their children
Learn about the best screen-time and app controls
Learn about ways to foster open and honest communication with their children around their digital engagement.
